Hey! Thanks for stopping by…. Let us take a quick moment to introduce ourselves.

We are Tom and Amanda Wondrash, owners of Little Bear Homestead located in Wabeno, WI.

We purchased our cabin in Dec 2015 and moved into the area full-time back in 2021. Tom is originally from Two Rivers, WI and Amanda was born and raised in Burlington, WI - as we quickly discovered, our love for the Northwoods was a common love and a goal to move up after retirement. Well, things sort of happened a bit quick, but God had plans to let us fulfill this dream a little sooner than retirement and for that we are ever grateful!

While we love our home on the lake, with a beautiful orchard and plenty of garden space ~ we wanted just a little bit more….so we found some land close by and have been working very hard to get Tom’s dream of maple sapping into place.

3 years ago, we were able to purchase 120 acres and recently just added an additional 80 acres to expand the maple farm! We couldn’t do it alone though; we have some fantastic (and what some may consider a wee bit crazy) friends who help make this our reality.

You’ll be lucky to find us in one location though; between the 17+ fruit trees in the orchard, the 6+beds of flowers and veggies in the garden, Amanda’s flock of chickens or the treats she’s whipping up in the kitchen, and tending to the “land”, there always seems to be something to do!

We chose a slower life… and now we’re building something simple, honest, and close to the land—one small batch at a time.
